PMP – Prague Music Performance Institute & Festival – has been creating a space where leading figures in classical, jazz and experimental music come together since 2011.
PMP brings together two core strands: the Festival, focused on concerts, premieres and interdisciplinary projects, and the Institute, dedicated to educational activities, masterclasses and artist residencies.
Artists presented by PMP include John Zorn, Kronos Quartet, Anthony Braxton, Roscoe Mitchell, Brad Mehldau, Esperanza Spalding, Uri Caine, Thurston Moore, Einstürzende Neubauten, Garth Knox, Mary Halvorson and Marc Ribot. The Institute has worked with artists including Alfred Brendel, Ivan Moravec, Murray Perahia, Leon Fleisher, Anthony Braxton and Roland Dahinden.
PMP also collaborates with other cultural institutions and festivals, among them the International Music Institute Darmstadt, the Tri-Centric Foundation in New York, the Czech Philharmonic, the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, the National Gallery Prague, the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, the National Film Archive, the Prague Spring International Music Festival and Music is.
