Prague Music Performance organically combines a festival with an educational institution. PMP presents concerts across musical genres, master classes, lectures, and residencies. PMP also endeavors to include other fields of art, such as the fine arts, film, or literary art.
The list of renowned artists PMP has introduced throughout its history includes John Zorn, Kronos Quartet, Brad Mehldau, Esperanza Spalding, Anthony Braxton, Roscoe Mitchell, Uri Caine, Thurston Moore, Einstürzende Neubauten, King Crimson, Pere Ubu, Crime & The City Solution, Garth Knox, Mary Halvorson, Ikue Mori, Dave Douglas, Joey Baron, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Barry Guy, Gareth Davis, Roland Dahinden, Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner, Marc Ribot, Julian Lage, Quatuor Diotima, Phantasm, Mahan Esfahani, and many others.
For those who cannot afford to study at the world’s top music schools and academies, PMP Institute & Festival offers an opportunity to work with the most prominent artists and teachers. Also, PMP takes part in or independently organizes benefit events for charitable purposes to artistically contribute to and support individuals and projects with diverse needs.
PMP closely collaborates with other art institutions such as International Music Institute Darmstadt, Czech Philharmonic, Prague Academy of Performing Arts, National Gallery in Prague, National Film Archives in Prague, The DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, international festivals Prague Spring and Music is.
