Grammy award-winning Attacca Quartet, as described by The Nation, ‘lives in the present aesthetically, without rejecting the virtues of the musical past’. The ability to nimbly adapt both their musical expression and technique allows them to cover a repertoire ranging from the 18th to the 21st century. This eclectic mix of styles and influences positions Attacca Quartet as one of the most versatile and distinctive present-day ensembles, capable of elegantly combining elements of a traditional string quartet with a cutting-edge repertoire of contemporary classical music. Based in New York City, Attacca Quartet comprises violinist Amy Schroeder, violinist Domenic Salerni, violist Nathan Schram, and cellist Andrew Yee. The quartet was founded nearly 20 years ago during their studies at the Juilliard School. The concert will feature a repertoire curated by John Adams for the Prague Music Performance.
