Korean Pianist Yun Ha Hwang, was written about in New York Times as “a true crowd-pleaser with a large, power-house sound and an unveiled artistic temperament”. She has won several Competitions such as “The Artist International”, “The Urbino Americani Musicisti Festival Competition”, “The Pusan Competition”, and “The KBS competition”. Also she was a prize winner of “The Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition, “The Tokyo International Piano Duo Competition”, and “The Dong-A Competition”. She also had concerts with various orchestras such as Americani Musicsti Festival, S.N.U. Symphony, New York Seoul Symphony, Seoul Symphony, Seoul Ensemble, Prime Philharmonic, Kunsan Symphony and Academy Ensemble. She received her B.M. from the college of Music in Seoul National University(Korea), M.M. from Manhattan School of Music(USA), and completed her Doctoral course from the latter school. Ms. Hwang was a member of the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division, the Caprarola International Music Festival, the Urbino Mid-summer International Music Festival, the Tivoliclassica International Music Festival, the Amati Music Festival, and the 2008 Prague International Piano Master Classes, 2009 ASIA International Piano Academy & Festival. She is currently a member of the faculty at the Seoul National University. Besides teaching and performances, Ms. Hwang founded the Korean Liszt Society in 1999 to introduce the works of Hungarian composer F. Liszt to Korean audiences, and has filled the president of the society up to date. For her continuous devotion to the cultural exchange between Korea and Hungary, Hungarian government awarded her the ‘Pro Cultura Hungarica’ medal in 2004. Also she founded the Korean Liszt Competition in 2009. The competition has been held annually and the young talented winners have been awarded with scholarships and opportunities of full sponsored piano recital in Korea, Hungary and USA. She received the title of Honorary Patron of the Liszt Academy of Music for her most valuable activity in promoting the legacy of Ferenc Liszt and fostering the international reputation of the Liszt Academy of Music in the Republic of Korea in 2012.
